A RIDE THROUGH HISTORY, BETWEEN OSTIA AND ROME

Day 1 | HOST

Check-in at the Fabulous Village.
2.30 pm, meeting of the participants in Piazza dei Ravennati (Ostia). An itinerary on two wheels lasting about three hours (30 kilometres) will start from here, with an expert guide, to discover Ostia, its history and its territory. We will start from the famous pier on the sea to enter the pine forest of Castel Fusano and reach the foot of the Castle of Julius II. The tour through the medieval alleys of the hamlet of Ostia Antica will allow you to visit little-known corners of great charm before continuing pedaling along the banks of the Tiber, always on flat ground, and reaching the area of the Pier Paolo Pasolini Literary Park. From here you will cross the Idroscalo and the New Port of Ostia to conclude the tour on the Lungomare cycle path up to the starting point.
Free dinner. Suggested is the typical local fish-based street food.
Return to the village and overnight.

Day 2 | ROME

Breakfast.
Departure for Rome with own means.
10.30 am appointment in Via Labicana, 49 (Top Bike). "Vicolo Libero" is not a classic tourist tour, but a bicycle itinerary of about six hours, through the alleys of the historic center of Rome to discover bars, restaurants and small shops that offer typical, particular and unusual products. The medium-easy route develops in a ring for about 20 kilometres, on mainly flat ground; pedaling you will come across monuments but also historic shops and businesses to be rediscovered. A widespread aperitif cycle, during which you will stop in various places for a tasty snack or a glass of wine, accompanied by the narration of the bar managers or customers who will enrich the experience with stories and anecdotes.
17.30 meeting at Ponte Sant'Angelo (Lungotevere Tor di Nona side). An immersive aperitif-experience on the Tiber River will start from here. This boat tour, lasting about an hour, will include a selection of samples of traditional dishes, accompanied by a glass of good wine. The ideal activity for those who want to admire Rome from an uncommon angle and appreciate its best masterpieces.
Return to the village and overnight.

Day 3 | HOST

Breakfast and check-out.
10.00 departure for Ostia Antica and visit to the Archaeological Park. The historic city owes its name to the proximity of the Tiber river and the sea (the name derives from "ostium", literally "mouth"). Before the disastrous flood of 1557, in fact, the course of the river was considerably different and the proximity to the sea was reduced compared to today. The Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica is one of the largest in Italy, and offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in an atmosphere that takes you back in time. The baths of Neptune, the Roman Theater, the Temple of Rome and Augustus and the various Domus that surround the main street are just some of the remains of that civilization that once was and which laid the roots of today's world.
