Day 1 | HOST

  • Check-in at the Fabulous Village.
  • 15.30, visit to the archaeological park of Ostia Antica. The historic city owes its name to the proximity of the Tiber river and the sea (the name derives from "ostium", literally "mouth"). Before the disastrous flood of 1557, in fact, the course of the river was considerably different and the proximity to the sea was reduced compared to today. The Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica is one of the largest in Italy, and offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in an atmosphere that takes you back in time. The baths of Neptune, the Roman Theater, the Temple of Rome and Augustus and the various Domus that surround the main street are just some of the remains of that civilization that once was and which laid the roots of today's world. The recently set up educational panels will make the visit even more engaging.
  • Free dinner. Suggested is the typical local fish-based street food.
  • Return to the village and overnight.

Day 2 | ROME

  • Breakfast.
  • Departure for Rome with own means.
  • 11.00 am appointment in via del Circo Massimo, 4189. From here the tour to discover the Velabrum, the cradle of Roman civilization, will start. Rome is adorned with wonderful monuments that contain history and represent an inexhaustible source of legends that, even today, remain unknown to most. The Velabro, for its part, is a small handkerchief of the city that represents a concentrate of beauty, history and little-known myth, lived in the shadow of the renowned Bocca della Verità. It will lead us to discover not only the architectural and monumental beauties of this corner of the capital but also to understand why the current use of different uses and idioms of the past and above all some formulas for good luck.
  • Free lunch. There are numerous places offering typically Roman cuisine. Suggested are the areas of the Ghetto or Trastevere, immediately adjacent to the river.
  • 17.00 boat trip of about an hour, a splendid tour on the Tiber river to admire the major attractions of Rome from a unique perspective, all accompanied by an audio guide that will allow you to discover the history of the Eternal City. The boat is accessible in the vicinity of four points: Isola Tiberina, Ponte Sant'Angelo, Piazza Trilussa and Piazza del Popolo.
  • Return to the village and overnight.

Day 3 | HOST

  • Breakfast and check-out.
  • Free day to discover the beauties of Ostia. A stop at the Necropolis of Porto is recommended, not far from the excavations of Ostia Antica, a complex of over 200 funerary buildings. Limit to the extreme south of a large burial ground, it is made up of tombs that are almost homogeneous in their structure. Another site not to be missed is that of the ancient imperial ports of Claudius and Trajan, as well as the nearby ship museum of Fiumicino, which holds one of the main collections of ancient Mediterranean boats.
    For nature lovers, the Coastal Ecomuseum and the Oasis of Porto will return a photograph of the surrounding area.
